FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Make a Donation!Your
gift will help Foodnet provide meals and other nutrition services that promote
dignity, well-being and independence for older adults and others in need in
Tompkins County.
November 26, 2003 -- Foodnet has a long way to go to reach our goal of
$90,000 for the 2003 annual fund drive. This year Foodnet sustained the largest
cuts of government funding in our history. As a result we have had to reduce
some services and prioritize client needs. Successful fund raising is essential
for Foodnet to provide adequate nutrition services to all who need them. Gifts
can be made in cash, by check (made out to Foodnet with "donation" or
"annual fund" on the memo line, or by VISA card (contact LuAnn at the
office). Gifts may be designated "in honor of" or "in memory
of" a friend or other loved one. Foodnet is also prepared to accept
gifts of stock and to discuss planned giving opportunities (contact Steve at
Foodnet). Ø
If
you can, please donate to Foodnet. Your gift will help us continue to provide
hot, nutritious meals to the elderly and disabled in Tompkins County. ·
$30 will provide a week of hot
noon meals for one person at a community center. ·
$47 will provide one full week of
meals on wheels for one person. Ø
If you know someone who could use
our services as a client, please encourage them to call us. When circumstances
change, and independent living becomes more of a challenge, we can help.
