A Special Holiday Dinner

A holiday dinner featuring Roast Beef with Bordelaise Sauce will be offered on Friday, December 21. The Cornell Catering Chefs will be back to help celebrate the holidays and you don’t want to miss it! If you attend a community meal site, be sure to get your reservation in early. The same great menu will be provided to those who have meals on wheels delivered that day.

Ithaca Alternative Gift Fair

Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Dodds Hall at First Presbyterian Church

315 N. Cayuga St., Ithaca

Foodnet Meals on Wheels will be at the Fair, which offers holiday shoppers a way to honor friends and family while supporting charities and non-profit organizations in a festive atmosphere. Gift prices start at $5 and are tax deductible. For each donation, the giver receives a holiday card with a description of the organization and the gift.

Winter Closings - Blizzard Bags

If the weather is very harsh and the schools are closing, listen to WHCU 870am or call 266-9553 to find out if Foodnet Meals on Wheels is closed for the day. Blizzard Bag emergency food packages are provided to full-time Foodnet home delivered meal consumers for just such an occasion. Call 266-9553 if you need a Blizzard Bag. The Blizzard Bags are mad possible by a grant from the Tompkins Charitable Gift Fund, gifts from the Ithaca Alternative Gift Fair, and volunteer help from Ithaca College students who are studying nutrition.

Did you know…

Foodnet Meals on Wheels serves 525 people everyday in Tompkins County with the choice of one or two meals daily. Congregate meals have increased 5% and meals on wheels have increased 8% compared to last year. This year we will serve more than 218,000 meals!

Won’t you please make a contribution to help Foodnet Meals on Wheels bring hot, nutritious meals to your elderly and disabled neighbors who have difficulty shopping and preparing meals for themselves?
